Above and Beyond Tax Services is a local family-owned business. Shirley and Bill Payton have over 50 years of combined experience in tax preparation of individual and business returns. Together they have worked on any situation you can dream up including but not limited to farm and ranch, small business, corporations, transportation, and much more. Shirley has more than 40 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience in addition to her tax practice. Bill incorporates the knowledge he gained over 25 years of managing businesses to ensure business owners get all of their deductions, bookkeeping, and payroll needs addressed.


Bill Payton

Bill started preparing taxes in 1992 as a second job.  After seeing big companies use larger refunds to charge more money. Bill decided to start using tax knowledge to help those families and small businesses to get more for their money so they could continue to do what they do best, take care of their families, their employees, and their communities. Now, 28 years later he is still helping individuals and businesses pay the least tax and plan ahead in their tax life.

Shirley Payton

Shirley Payton is no stranger to the tax business. Starting her own tax office in 1989 she knew it was something that she would always enjoy because of the passion she had for helping her clients. Even while working in other industries as a bookkeeper, office manager, and payroll specialist. Shirley continued to prepare taxes part-time for a variety of tax organizations. In 2015, Shirley began preparing taxes full time in addition to running her own bookkeeping service in San Angelo.
